EUROCUCINA - Milan 2016

"Come away to Italy with me” said my KitchenAid Rep Vicky. Stop - Not as racy as it sounds. Kitchen Aid were displaying their latest range and to make sure they had maximum exposure, where better to show off than at Eurocucina - the greatest Kitchen and Bathroom show in the world.

Off I popped to Italy for three days of ‘schmoosing’ in the finest surroundings, staying at the Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta, set on the shores of Lake Maggiore in a location known as Stresa.

Bonus – after a day and half of being wined and dined (first class, I should add) and duly schmoosed I had a day and half to wander through Eurococina and immerse myself in all things kitchen and bathroom. Out of this world

See what I discovered

Eurocucina still remains Europe’s premier trade show for the kitchen (and bathroom) industry.

With over 170 major manufacturers showing (did you know that there were that many choices?), it proved to live up to its billing as the greatest Kitchen and Bathroom show in the world.

From the frankly outlandish to the sublimely beautiful, there were displays in all shapes and sizes to suit all.

Key themes were materials, and textures, with Porcelain, Concrete and Wood and Glass, being well displayed.

For the well heeled, why not clad your entire kitchen in a granite material, and have it hide away when you don’t need it, Circa £150, 0007

For the more budget conscious, and perhaps slightly more minimalist, have a full Corian kitchen, again hiding things to

A question that seemed to split the manufacturers was whether to have your kitchen fully hidden, with sliding doors, moving worktops and false walls hiding everything away, including the kitchen sink.

Alternatively have it all on display with massive areas of shelving and shelf boxes, freestanding sinks.
