Last week saw the showroom a hive of activity as we hosted two days of Lorna Dunhill’s Italian cookery workshop. Super star Chef Simona Fabrizio wowed us all with her amazing talent and true passion. A native of Umbria, her dedication to seasonal cookery and authentic Italian cuisine made for a truly inspiring few days as she used basic ingredients (though the very best!) to make moth watering dishes. Her infectious enthusiasm rubbed off, and though of course she made it all look very easy, she soon had all our guests rolling pasta into ravioli and tagliatelle like they’d been doing it all their lives…The odd shaped ravioli was testament to the fact that this was not quite the case, but nonetheless it all tasted sensational! Simona, experienced Chef, tutor and passionate food blogger writes religiously on her widely acclaimed blog (literally meaning Food Feast at Home). From her home in Orvieto she works as a cookery tutor and sommelier and it is clear to see that she has found her vocation! After the fresh pasta and classic sauces, a spring risotto and finally the unbeatable Tiramisu. All washed down with a wonderful fruity Italian, all made for a very pleasant few days. What a great job I have! Thanks to all our have-a-go guests and Lorna and Simona for a truly inspirational few days.
